Fundraising for Trekstock
Story
Hello lovely people
Gina and I have decided to undertake a challenge to hike the 26 miles along Hadrian's wall in 12 hours....this was postponed from 2020 due to COVID and will now be taking place in September 2022.
We are doing this in aid of the Cancer charity, Trekstock.
I was myself diagnosed with a rare form of Cancer called a Myxofibro Sarcoma in August 2019 and began treatment immediately.
After 6 weeks of radiotherapy, an operation to remove the tumour and multiple trips to hospital I am now cancer free and have been in remission for the past 2 years.
Trekstock gets young adults in their 20's and 30's moving again physically, socially and psychologically after cancer has stopped them in their tracks.
Every day in the UK 34 young adults are diagnosed with cancer. Trekstock exists to ensure that no young adult in the UK faces it alone.
Trekstock delivers practical and social support programmes tailored to the needs of young adults, to give them a better chance of living well through and beyond cancer.
All of their programmes are developed in collaboration with the people they support and work to improve their physical and psychological wellbeing, their quality of life and provide them with the tools they need to get moving again through and beyond treatment.
