Ella has experienced, through a close family friend, the impact of cancer when the symptoms were ignored and not investigated sooner. Had this service been available to him then he may still be with us today and he is sorely missed by his family, friends and the community. 

In addition to training and supporting 'Workplace Champions' to provide a listening ear and support to those concerned they may have symptoms that might be cancer and signposting them to the right place, CARES are currently raising money to fund a new endoscopy suite for the local community enabling in the region of 5,000 extra sessions to be undertaken each year. Introduction of the new unit will reduce waiting times; help diagnose people more quickly and save lives!

Ella has never had more than a trim to her hair for 14 years and has decided that she will not only undertake a sponsored hair cut off to raise the money,
she will also donate the hair to The Princess Trust to be made into a wig for children with diseases that cause hair loss
