Story
A group of women from around the world (including me lol) are going a month without make-up (minus my b-day no hate) to raise money for girls education in Uganda!!!
Please help me raise enough money to send 1 girl through a year of secondary school, and 2 through a year or primary education.
I am raising money for Orphans Know More (OKM), a charity that was founded in 2005 in Harpenden, which operates under Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Orphans Know More is a relationally based partnership working together to give orphans a Face, a Family and a Future. OKM focuses on families, not institutions, and believes that the best way to tackle the international orphan crisis is to care for children in families. OKM is strengthening 26 local families in the Jinja Region in Southern Uganda. These families have fostered and adopted and care for 187 children as their own, offering love and acceptance without condition. These families function as nuclear and extended families, free from institutionalisation. Stronger families within the network also care for other families that may be headed by a widow who is HIV+.
Of these 187 children, 65 girls need sponsorship for their primary, secondary and vocational education this year. In Uganda, only 18% of girls finish secondary education. I went to Uganda five years ago and met some of these girls myself! They were so lush!
Please consider sponsoring me!! 100% of your donation after bank charges goes to these 65 Ugandan girls and their educations.
BREAKDOWN:
Vocational (13 girls) £350 each
Secondary (27 girls) £280 each
Primary (25 girls) £60 each
Total to raise: £13,610
Thank you for your support!
