Story
Taking a break from Wimbledon this year for a new challenge - the Marathon!
Like so many people, we have a lot of experience with cancer, so we are both running 26 miles to support Macmillan, who are such an amazing charity! Our lovely Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018 which was really challenging, but she fought hard and after some intense treatment we are so lucky that she is in complete remission! We are also running in memory of our Nani, Nana, and Grandad, who we all miss lots. Nani passed away after facing her second breast cancer diagnosis, Nana after a battle with stomach cancer which spread to her brain, and Grandad also sadly had lung cancer. Tragically this is the heartbreaking reality for so many, with someone new being diagnosed with cancer every 2 minutes in the UK.
Macmillan have been a great support for us in the past and we want to raise as much as we can so that as many people affected as possible get help! We are excited (and absolutely terrified) to run the Marathon for them, and so happy to be part of the green team once again. This time it's our turn to run and not spectate - see photos from Edinburgh and London Marathon 2010!
Any donations would mean the world - we will need the motivation training in the dark and rainy winter!
Lots of love from Ella and Maya xxxx
