London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
I'm super excited and nervous to say that I am running the London Marathon in October for Macmillan! For someone who has always hated running and has never ran more than 10k (once) this is a huge challenge and no doubt will be the hardest thing I've ever done.
Cancer is such a cruel disease and has affected my life and those around me for as long as I can remember, I sadly lost both my Grandparents to cancer and it left the biggest hole in our world. They were the most energetic, fun, loving and travel obsessed people who we all loved so much.
Unfortunately I lost my other Grandad at the end of June, who also had cancer. Seeing the strongest and most stubborn man I knew so ill was so sad. He had the support of Macmillan nurses so I saw first hand the difference the money makes. He always wanted me to give up going out and my lifestyle so much so maybe the marathon training will be the answer to staying in!
I was lucky enough to say I worked for Macmillan and feel so proud to know the work they do helps so many people every year, I met so many inspiring people while working there. No matter how hard the training gets it's nothing compared to the struggles of those battling cancer.
I really appreciate any donation you can spare for this amazing cause, it really will give me the motivation to run the gruelling 26.2 miles...
Thank you!xxxxxx
