Hi my name is Elki. I am excited to share with you that I will be taking part in the epic challenge that is the London Marathon on 2nd October 2022 for the Bodie Hodges Foundation, a charity that has real impact supporting families who have been bereaved of a child, and I would really welcome your support. The Bodie Hodges Foundation was formed in 2012 and its vision is to give hope to families bereaved of a child by providing a range of services that support grieving families and encourage them to rebuild and remember.
Through Bodie’s Bereavement Service, they provide early emotional therapeutic support to families, working with those who have experienced the sudden and unexpected death of a child up to the age of 18 within Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. They work with the whole family, including siblings for up to eighteen months, providing support during the darkest time of a family’s grief.
At Bodie’s Boathouse, the Foundation provides a one-week stay to families from across the East Midlands within the first three years following their child’s death. The Boathouse is a 3-bedroomed luxury lodge based at Tallington Lakes, Lincolnshire, designed to help families relax and spend time together.
Bodie’s Treasured Memory Bags are sent out to bereaved siblings across the whole of the UK. They have been expertly designed with professionals to create conversations about death and grief, helping
the whole family to talk.
The Bodie Hodges Foundation are proud to provide all their services completely free of charge. Detailed below are just some of the things your donations could fund. Also, please do let me know if your employers have matched giving schemes for charities who may consider matching your donation and further boost my fundraising!
