On 27 June we will be cycling 52 miles around London.
The first reason for us taking part in this bike ride is to catch up with some old friends from a previous cycling challenge.
The second and more important reason is to raise some money for a brilliant charity. This reason has become much more personal to both of us in recent weeks.
We are now doing this ride in honour and memory of Graham Walker (Jay's dad), who supported and admired this charity, and who died a week before we take on this challenge, on 20 June, from Multiple Myeloma (one of the forms of blood cancer this charity researches and aims to eliminate).
It seems fitting that we use this challenge to remember Graham and raise some all important money to fund the groundbreaking research that this charity funds. Although the achievements of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research over the past 50 years have been remarkable, as Graham's early death and that of many other blood cancer patients shows, there is still lots to do to ensure people of all ages are given the best possible chance of survival and of living a normal healthy life after treatment for blood cancer.
