170 years ago the Cathedral, our patrons, gave St Mary's Mepal (where I am now churchwarden) stones and help to save our church from ruin.  Now we need to make the church  fit for a 21st century purpose.  What better way to celebrate my 70th birthday than wheeling a stone the 8+ miles from the Cathedral (one of our Canons is helping the first stage, and church members and friends have promised to join in) along the cycle paths which connect our village to Ely, all the way to the church!
