Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We all know someone who has either lost a friend or family member to cancer. I lost my Mum, and Joe lost his Grandma in 2004 within weeks of a diagnosis of lung cancer. The hospice care my Mum received made such a difference at a time when we all felt so helpless. Joe and I want to raise as much money as we can to put towards buying a special bed for St Catherine's - giving one more person the chance to benefit from the amazing care and love at a time it's needed most.
To raise the money Joe and I will be both doing a tandem skydive on July 18th (weather permitting!) and are looking for sponsorship to help us achieve our goal. I know we can do it ! In 2001 I ran the London Marathon in 4hrs 18mins and managed to raise over £6000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association - a disease which was the cause of my Dad's death in July 2000.
The hospice needs over £3.9m each year to continue to be able to offer the care needed so desperately by so many people and countless people work tirelessly throughout the year holding fund raisers to help raise this money.
Please help us - dig deep - no amount is too small - every penny will help towards our goal and will be appreciated no matter what you can give.

So far we've had the dive cancelled twice due to high winds and poor visibility. Poor visibility isn't going to be a problem for either me or Joe as Im sure we'll both have our eyes tightly closed during the dive! We completed our 30 minute trainign session on Saturday when we went to Flookburgh so at least when the time does actually come around we'll be raring to go.
Anyway the next scheduled date is for Sunday19th September, so fingers crossed (and toes!) that the wind holds off just for an hour or so - long enough to get up and down - and ge tit over with!
I'll keep you posted on what happens!
