Story
I'm cycling from Coast to Coast to Coast from Scarborough to Grange-over-Sands and back again which is 310 miles over 5 days, on and off road and with hills of 23103 feet of elevation!
I'm raising money, along with 80 other riders, for a MARIE CURIE nurses who provide care for people at home with terminal illness. I've been mountain biking for years and love everything about it; the countryside, the views and the friends I cycle with, but this year is a NEW challenge for me with 2 of the 5 days on a road bike with 75 miles a day. I only bought a road bike 2 months ago and I've found it completely different and harder with the speed on the down hills as challenging as the up hills! So I've been training hard every weekend over the last few months up and down dales in the North York Moors and can't wait now!
Palliative Care Nurses like Marie Curie Nurses supported my family when we were looking after my Mum at home for the last month of her life and without their support this would have not have been possible. My Mum loved cycling and we had some lovely cycling holidays together and I'll be thinking of her when I'm pedalling up the hills and across the beautiful countryside and back.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my just giving page to support this challenge.
Many friends have sponsored me in the past, so any donation no matter how small is appreciated to help me reach my total target of £310 - £1 for every mile and the total C2C2C Team target of £25000 which will fund 1 MARIE CURIE Nurse for 1 year.
