MARIE CURIE CANCER CARE COAST TO COAST 2013 powered by Purple Mountain

I am doing the Marie Curie Coast to Coast 2013 challenge in memory of my mum, who through 5 years of treatment for breast cancer, enjoyed many days cycling around Cherry Burton and The Yorkshire Wolds; she never let it get in her way.  Especially remembering 2 great family cycling holidays in the Isle of White and Jersey; she had so much pleasure and loved the freedom of being out and about in the fresh air right up until the end.  It's now count down to the big ride and I’m feeling both excited and nervous, but I hope to have the determination and stamina, as my Mum had, to make it up the hills and have some laughs and lots of fun along the way (and no doubt there'll be plenty of aches and pains too). 

 

Please donate here and support all the fantastic riders that I'll be joining to complete the Coast to Coast Challenge for Marie Curie this year.  We are tackling this iconic ride from Grange over Sands to Scarborough, as an on and off road route, over 150 miles, over 3 days starting on Friday 21st June. My sister, Helen, is coming along too to help out and support the riders - unfortunately Tilly will not be able to make it (as she prefers to walk and be chauffeured around in the car these days) but she will be at the finish line (as we also know she doesn't like to miss a good party and trip to the pub), along with my dad to join in the celebrations where we aim to dip our wheels in the sea at Scarborough on Sunday 23rd June - hopefully!!! You are welcome to join us at the finish (see the Marie Curie Coast 2 Coast Purple Mountain website for details) and we will keep you posted via facebook on the journey and ETA x
