Story
My beautiful, amazing mother passed away on the 22/03/17. She was taken care of by the fantastic staff, nurses and doctors of the Coventry Myton Hospice.
My family and I are aiming to raise £12,000 in 1 year, as she was in there for 12 days. It costs just over £1000 for the nursing and care of just one patient for just one day. This means that Myton need £8.8 million per year to run all three of their hospices free of charge to families like mine.
My mum was diagnosed with stage 4 Lung Cancer which had spread into her spine in May of 2016. It was devastating news. She endured both radiotherapy and chemotherapy, she was doing so well when things took an unexpected turn for the worst. A fall in the house and a hit to the head prompted a CT and an MRI scan which found that 6 more tumours were growing in her brain, even more devastating news hit us when we were told she had around 4-6 weeks to live.
She truly was a one in a million, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend. To anyone who knew her she was fun, bubbly, witty, kind and incredibly loving. 52 is no age to lose your life to such an awful disease, however this page will be a great way of remembering her in a positive way that will help others.
We will spend our whole lives telling stories about the most amazing woman in our lives, our beautiful Karen.
Absolutely any donations made will be thanked with deep gratitude, even £0.01 helps!
Thank you in advance! #TeamKaren x
