Story
We are so excited that you will join us to support WWIN and the Sip for Stars! event. We have enjoyed celebrating the WWIN Star Scholars when they graduate and make progress towards a life long career. We can do more with your support. We hope you will join us in funding Isis' future.
Here is Isis' story in her own words:
Ink Nash Waníksha “Hello, my name is Isis Sanchey.” I am a Native American female, a direct descendant of the Winnier-Yemowat families of the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation. In addition, my ancestry includes the Pottawatomie, Shawnee, Muckleshoot and Nez Perce tribes, along with Dutch-Irish and African American.
I plan to use my Healthcare Administration degree to help the people living on the Yakama Nation reservation, my home. My goal in life is to be able to provide services, educate, and advocate for the residents of underserved communities, such as White Swan, or those tribal members that may be place-bound like the Columbia River people. Equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities, including the appropriate degree I then, may be on track to secure a career in the Yakama Nation Indian Health Services. Thus, begin to achieve my long-term goal of serving the people of the Yakama Nation. The WWIN Star Scholarship will allow me to begin to focus on the short-term and long-term goals I have set for myself.
“This scholarship will not only allow me to pursue higher education full time, but also allows me to serve in my community while working on my degree.” Isis
