Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Ths countdown has now began....only 12 weeks until I race the LLHM, serious training is now required! Thank you so much to those of you who have already donated. I'm so close to my target, it would be great to smash it again this year.

Please, if you are able, donate anything you can to the fabulous ME Association. They provide a lifeline to families and sufferers who are experiencing this debilitating illness, whilst funding research & development, in hope that one day  cure will be found.

This event was cancelled last year due to the pandemic and instead changed to Local Landmarks Half Marathon. I ran from home in the Nee Forest. This year it’s back, and I’m determined to make it to the big Smoke!

On 2nd August 2021  I will be running 21 km through The City of London & Westminster taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon. Starting on Pall Mall & finishing at Downing Street, taking in many iconic landmarks along the way.

The reason I am putting myself through this, is to raise funds for the ME Association.

*Update on Evie*

Evie is now living life to the full, a “normal” happy teenager! It is remarkable the transformation from two years ago. Massive thanks to the ME Association who helped Evie & her family during this most distressing time.

My beautiful goddaughter, Evie, has been suffering with ME for the last year. Evie is a bright, outgoing & talented teenager. In August 2018, on our annual pilgrimage to Cornwall, Evie was the first into the surf & last out, enjoyed late night beach campfires, cliff walking & was the life & soul of the party. In September she was ill with a virus and by Christmas she was bed bound. Evie has spent the whole of 2019 in bed, unable to leave her darkened room. Unable to walk unaided, talk in more than a whisper and light & sound are painful to her. Evie is 14.

The ME Association supports people like Evie and her family, through all stages of their illness. Their ultimate goal is to find a cure for people with ME and strive to give sufferers hope and make the UK a better place for those whose lives have been devastated by this often misunderstood neurological disease.

Please, please, please help me raise funds for the ME Association!

The ME Association campaigns hard to get ME recognised as a severe neurological illness. Our helpline provides essential information and support to adults and children who have ME/CFS, and to their families and carers. We also fund biomedical research into the physical nature and causes of ME/CFS.
