Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms including problems with vision, arm or leg movement, sensation or balance. It's a lifelong condition that can sometimes cause serious disability.
My mum was diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis 24 years ago.
My mum since then has lost most of her independence and quality of life. She used to love going to the caravan every weekend with her friends, hosting events, and taking the dogs for long walks. Unfortunately in the past 5 years her health has deteriorated meaning she can no longer enjoy these activities.
Everyone who knows my mum knows she never EVER complains, what she has gone through has been hell. In the past 5 years, the MS has progressively worsened and my mum is now no longer able to stand or walk- yet never once complained. Everyday she puts a smile on her face for me and my Dad even though she is in pain. She really does bring joy to those around her!
MS unfortunately not only affects the individual, it has a massive impact on their loved ones. It is heartbreaking to see someone you love in constant discomfort and pain. We are no longer able to do the things we used to take for granted.
