Story
In October 2022 I will be running the London Marathon. It is safe to say, I have gone with my heart and not my head committing to this, as my head is asking me what the bloody hell am I doing! BUT it is all for a fantastic cause.. I am going to be running for Heart UK, which is a charity close to me and many others around me.
As some of you may be aware, I have been working in cardiac rehabilitation for nearly 2 years. I have seen first hand the devastating effects heart disease can have on an individual and their families, but more importantly the impact early detection and prevention can have.
Almost half of UK adults have raised cholesterol, which can lead to heart disease. Heart UK work to prevent premature deaths from high cholesterol, a major risk factor for heart attacks and strokes. The money raised will help the charity continue their vital work, raising awareness of the risks of high cholesterol, providing much needed help, advice and support to those diagnosed and campaigning for people to get the best care and treatment.
I will be running alongside my CP+R colleagues and friends Sabine, Rachel and Robyn, who share with me a passion for helping individuals and families overcome cardiac events, and more importantly help prevent cardiac events from occurring.
Any donations would be hugely appreciated and I would like to thank you all in advance for your support.
Wish me luck.. (I’m going to need it…😬)
