Story
As many of you know I am a keen runner and this April I will be running the London Marathon. I am running to raise funds for the stroke association, a UK based charity who conduct resarch into stroke care, raise awareness of stroke, and provide necessary support services for families of stroke sufferers.
Stroke impacts your mind and body and often damages your ability to communicate and your bodily functions. Whilst many people do make a full recovery after suffereing from a stroke many are left with disabilites and some sadly do not make it. Around 150,000 people a year in the UK have a stroke. Whilst most sufferers are over 65, stroke can affect people of any age including children and babies.
I have seen the impact of stroke on my own family and would like to you use the experiences of my own family to raise awareness and raise money for much needed research.
