I'm ALL IN for Summer Search!  I am inspired by this organization's ability to empower young people to unleash their potential. This program offers mentorship, experiential learning opportunities, and college prep advising to high school students from underserved
communities. The 550 young people they partner with have limitless potential but must also navigate systemic barriers in order to reach it. 93% of participants are first-generation college students, 97% identify as people of color, and all qualify for free or reduced lunch. All of them have strengths, potential, and dreams for their future. Through long-term mentoring, summer experiences, and tailored support to succeed in their chosen careers, Summer Search gives students tools to unlock their potential and become thriving adults with rewarding careers, financial well-being, and a sense of purpose.

To me, the most impressive part of this program is its impact. Summer Searchers are 3x more likely to graduate from college than their peers and report average incomes 2-3x that of their families.

I first became involved with Summer Search at their 2017 Luncheon and have spent the last 4 years watching our incredible students and alumni unleash their potential through this program.  I've been so inspired by the program's mission and impact that I joined the Summer Search Seattle Board in 2019 to deepen my connection with the organization. Mentors have played a strong role throughout my life, and I'm excited to give back to others the opportunities that have been given to me throughout my journey.
