Our daughter Bethan was born perfectly healthy at full term. However, at 3 days old she needed a life-saving operation on her bowels. Without the dedication, hard-work and research of the highly-specialised medical team, Bethan would certainly not have survived. However, we now have a beautiful daughter who is thriving and doing well. Bethan's future is looking bright indeed! Rob and I are determined not only to raise money for BLISS but also to raise the profile of these incredible units. £2500 will train a neonatal nurse in developmental care. This Just Giving Page is just the start!!Rob and I will be working to actively raise money for the charity by running fundraising events. We will certainly keep you all posted!
Why BLISS?
One in eight babies in the UK is born premature or sick – that's 82,000 babies every year. Around 20,000 of these babies need intensive care and the figure is rising. Every six minutes, a newborn baby requires urgent specialist care. Every 24 minutes, a newborn baby requires life-saving intensive care. Bliss is the only UK charity that helps care for premature and sick babies. We are dedicated to ensuring
that more babies not only survive, but also go on to have the best possible quality of life. We support
families, fund cutting-edge research and campaign for improved hospital resources.
Bliss campaigns within Government, Parliament and the NHS for essential change and investment in
health services and raises awareness of the issues affecting sick and premature babies.
By raising funds for Bliss, you are helping to make a real difference for those babies
born to soon, too small or too sick.
