Story
Hi, my name is Elizabeth Guttilla and I participated in the YIP program in the Fall of 2018. Youth in Philanthropy is a teen-based program within the Foundation for MetroWest that strives to educate and empower teens about topics related to non-profits and giving back to our community. During my YIP program, we raised $5,000 to donate to two nonprofits of our choice. We evaluated grants these nonprofits presented and made a final decision about where the money will go.
In Winter 2020, I was a teaching assistant for YIP Weston and had a great experience taking on a bigger leadership role.
In Fall 2020, I joined the junior board and the fundraising committee! We fundraised last year for the ONE Metrowest campaign and I'm excited to continue it this year.
I am the chair of the fundraising committee this year and I work with my board to ensure that we all fundraising $500 each.
Through YIP I learned that I can make a difference. Being a part of YIP, I have been able to see that change happen and donate to nonprofits. With the help from the Foundation for MetroWest, that change is seen constantly.
I am happy to be back involved with YIP through the Junior Board and begin fundraising again!
With your donations, I hope to raise $500 that will go toward the Foundation for MetroWest
Thank you for your generosity!
Elizabeth
