Story
I am fully aware that at the moment there is significant ask around the world for support for those impacted by the Coronavirus and that everyone has a story to tell. I am no different, I am passionate about supporting the young people who attend Brainhouse Academy and the staff who work there. They have nothing ...... and yet have huge belief and hope about the good in the world. They survive hand to mouth - what is earned today, feeds them tomorrow. So you can just imagine how desperate the situation is for all the teachers, the families and the orphans who live in Brainhouse Academy. One of our team in Kenya said to us that they are more likely to die from starvation than from the virus - can you imagine that outlook and desperation you must feel every day you wake up and know that it is beyond you to find a way to put food on a plate.
Therefore given this I have decided to make the ask to you all, despite all the other calls on your kindness, to help support our drive to ensure that there is a school with students and teachers in it, at the end of this nightmare for us all. Just £5 will help us save a life for a month, by feeding them.
Many of you will know that two years ago I would have found it incredibly difficult to walk 26 klms, yet with the support of my fabulous family, close friends and the NHS I am able to do this challenge this week to help make a difference to our young people in Kenya. To ensure that I meet the Govt guidelines I will do the walk locally around my estate over five days, but will ensure that I walk the full 26 klms.
Thank you so much for being prepared to support me in this endeavour to make a difference to young people whose lives were already a challenge before Covid-19 was even heard of and now their school and life are experiencing a challenge no-one could have ever predicted.
