In an attempt to get fitter and look beyond myself in this pandemic, I've decided to do a virtual pilgrimage and try to raise some money for a good cause at the same time.

I've always wanted to do a number of pilgrim routes, especially the Camino di Santiago, a 480.9 mile hike from the French Pyrenees to St James Cathedral in Compostela, northern Spain. So I'm taking the opportunity to do it virtually in 2021.

I'm not at all fit, hence the whole year, which will be an average of 9 miles a week - still a challenge but also achievable (I hope). I'll post updates as I reach key points in the journey.

Ocean Stars was founded by a friend and is a small charity doing amazing work in Sri Lanka since the tsunami, especially in education. Like many charities, fundraising opportunities have been affected by the pandemic. You can find more info here: https://oceanstars.org.uk
