Story
Hi everybody, Thanks for taking the time to visit my just giving page.
Some of you may or may not know mum has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer often known as the 'silent killer' because women are unaware they have it until it is well advanced, it is the fourth most common cancer among women. .The saddest thing about it is that there is no routine screening as yet ,although research is being carried out to find a reliable test. This is one of the reasons that has prompted me to jump out of the sky and try to raise some money for the 'Big C'.
Raising money for equipment and research is one of the core goals of' Big C'. Since the charity was set up in 1980 14 million has been raised so far a large portion funding research at the UEA.
In addition to this 'Big C' has funded a Family information and support centre at the Norfolk and Norwich.
The 'Big c' are also offering students bursaries to encourage students to consider working in cancer research / research associated with cancer,.
