Our beautiful sister/sister-in-law Jennifer, a young mum of 4 beautiful boys, was diagnosed with bowel cancer back in February 2020.  She underwent surgery in March 2020 and the tumour was successfully removed.  However, when they tried her with chemotherapy she suffered a cardiac arrest and was unable to continue with the treatment.  At Jennifer’s next appointment with her oncology team they delivered the news nobody wants to hear, that the cancer had spread.  At this stage they did move forward with a very low dose of chemo but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to stop the cancer that continued to ravage her body.  Jennifer sadly lost her fight with this horrible disease on 27 July 2022 at just 45 years of age.  The McAuley-Bennett and O'Toole families wanted to help in some small way to show support for all those fighting this hateful disease and to those who went under the radar as a result of COVID-19.  We have challenged ourselves to a 50k walk in 7 days in the hope of raising vital funds for Cancer Focus NI to help those battling cancer.  Any donations you can make, big or small, would be incredible to help other families going through the same thing in the North of Ireland.
