Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving. Across September, I am hoping to get people out hiking in groups, raising awareness for Edale Mountain Rescue & collecting donations to support their amazing work in the Peak District. My Uncle John Coombs has served them for over 30 years now & I believe that is an incredibly important organisation to fundraiser for.
I have an over 30’s hiking group (RuralLizzy) & we shall be going out on the 3rd weekend of September to do “Edale Skyline”

Edale Mountain Rescue Team (EMRT) operates in the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire and is one of the busiest Mountain Rescue teams in the country. 2020 was the busiest year in the history of Edale Mountain Rescue. Team members were involved in 156 incidents throughout our operational area, which covers parts of Derbyshire and South Yorkshire.
We are a registered charity, number 1138626.
As you will be aware, Edale Mountain Rescue are a voluntary organisation, funded entirely by charitable donations and have running costs of around £80,000 a year, before considering expenditure on replacement vehicles and major projects. So our preference is for any money raised to go into our general funds to cover running costs.
Don’t forget….. call 999 & ask for MOUNTAIN RESCUE.
