Story
I am raising money for Lymphoma Action as my stepdad Chris was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in July 2022. Chris has raised lots of money for charity over the years, by running the London Marathon on two occasions and through other sporting events. He is a big cyclist and has completed the L’Etape du Tour (a stage of the Tour De France) on 5 occasions.
For someone who always says “my body is a temple” and has always had such a great attitude toward eating and being healthy, this diagnosis came as such a shock. He is currently having chemotherapy and monoclonal antibody therapy every 3 weeks. We have had so much information from Lymphoma Action UK and, on behalf of the family, I’d really like to give something back.
I’d be so grateful if you could support me through sponsorship as I run the Miami half marathon in Jan 2023. I will need to train considerably for this a) as I haven't run further than 3 miles in over 8 years (the most I have ever done is 6 miles) and b) I live in Florida so the heat will be a challenge!
Lymphoma Action is the UK’s only charity dedicated to lymphoma, the fifth most common cancer in the UK, and the most common among young people aged 15 to 24. Please give what you can and thank you for giving your time to read this, wish me luck!
