Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated to this great cause!
On the 28th March 2010 I completed a 100ft abseil at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford in aid of their Neuro ICU department. I did this in memory of my wonderful Dad, Bob Hudson.
As most of you may know on 6th December 2008 my Dad was seriously injured in a road traffic accident near his home. For the next 11 days Dad was given the most amazing care in the Neuro ICU at the John Radcliffe. The staff were fantastic and Dad was treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Sadly Dad did not survive his accident but many people do and the Neuro ICU gives them the best possible chance. For that reason I pledged to raise £1200 for the unit. Thanks to all of your donations I have exceeded that target.
The funds will be used to buy a cooling blanket which costs in the region of £20,000 to purchase. It is well documented that control of pyrexia( high body temperature) can be beneficial to the outcome for patients with head injuries.
If you have not yet donated but wish to do so there is still time so please give as generously as you can to help this amazing service - you never know when you, or someone you love, may need it.
