Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page! We are Elite Control Systems and Asset Guardian Solutions (aka the Mud Buds), and together, we are raising money for SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health). 

We will be taking part in Edinburgh's Tough Mudder 5k and we would like to raise as much money as possible for a really great cause.

Mental Health problems can affect the way you think, feel and behave and many people can underestimate how serious they can be, whether this be anxiety or depression. A mental health problem feels just as bad, or worse, than any other illness – only you cannot see it.

For example, it is estimated that up to 1 person in 20 is thinking about suicide at any one time. In Scotland that means 262,740 people may be thinking about it, that is enough people to fill Hampden Park 5 times. The gender gap is widening when it comes to suicide, with men more than three times as likely to die by suicide, compared with two-and-a-half-times the year before. 

Despite these challenges, it is possible to recover from a mental health problem and live a productive and fulfilling life. SAMH currently operate over 60 services in communities across Scotland, providing a range of mental health support services such as mental health social care support, homelessness, addictions, and employment services. 

Your donations will be sent straight through to the charity, so they can use the funds right away and help those in need!
