Story
Hello hello ! So I decided this year was the one I would run a marathon because yolo and fomo and what else is there to do now I’m married (if someone says have a baby I will put a curse on you). As many of you know, my lovely mum was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis last year and I have seen first hand how much this can warp a person you love.. Some days, she can’t reach her arms up to wash her face. She struggles to climb the stairs. On the worst days, she’s unable to lift and hold her first and only grand baby, JimJam (James). Nearly everyone I speak to knows someone with arthritis and so I wanted to run for a charity that is doing something about all that pain. I myself already have the murmurings of arthritis in the fingers of my left hand. And as a left-handed writer by trade, that doesn’t bode well…. But Versus Arthritis invests in breakthrough treatments, the best information, and vital support for everyone affected by arthritis. So, if, like me, you find yourself thinking ‘it would be good if we had a cure for that one day’ then do sponsor my run. I will be forever indebted to you and yours. (Also, in giving me as generous a donation as you can manage, you will be helping me greatly reduce the stress of raising this money, and allowing me the luxury of merely stressing about being able to run the whole thing). Cheers !
