Running for Josie

Cardiff University Cardiff Half Marathon · 27 March 2022 ·
Josie was born 5th May 2011. She was my bubbly, sassy little side-kick. She loved dancing and horse riding. She seemed to be a happy, healthy little girl with her whole life ahead of her.
On the 28th November 2016 Josie passed away suddenly due to an undiagnosed congenital condition, midgut volvulus with intestinal malrotation. The bottom fell out of my world, and that of my family. 2Wish provided us with memory boxes and support, and in time counselling and play therapy for Josie's brother, who was just 3 when she passed.
To say thank you for the support 2Wish gave the family, myself and Dave are running Cardiff Half Marathon in memory of Josie. We hope to raise £500 to help families who need their support. No parent should lose a child, but when the unthinkable happens, 2Wish's support is paramount, both immediately and into the future.
2 Wish provides immediate bereavement support for families, individuals and professionals who have suddenly and traumatically lost a child or young adult aged 25 years and under. When a family loses a child or young adult the effects are devastating for all who knew and loved them. It is important that support is available if and when required. It is important families know that they are not alone and that the feelings they are experiencing are often normal.
