Story
I was fortunate enough to receive a ballot place to run the London Marathon in 2020. I decided that I would like to raise some money for a deserving charity. My chosen charity this year is The Children's Society!
Unfortunately due to COVID running the Virgin Money London Marathon was postponed in 2020 and turned into a virtual race. The virtual race took place on Sunday 4th October 2020. I completed the run with great thanks to a group of friends who helped me run along the Thames Path close to my home in South West London.
My actual place to run the London Marathon was transferred over to this year. It now takes place on 3rd October 2021 and I’d appreciate all of your support!
As some of you may know I am a Nanny Ambassador for BAPN (The British Association for Professional Nannies). The Children's Society is BAPN's chosen charity to support. At BAPN we would like to raise as much money as we can so that vulnerable children receive the help and support that they need. Children are a massive part of my world and day to day life working as a Nanny. As we all know, some children are a lot less fortunate than others. Many children have been hit extremely hard during the recent lockdown and Coronavirus pandemic and I would like to do all I can to help and support them. By raising money for The Children's Society we are giving children the chance of a more hopeful and positive future.
Please donate anything you can. Myself, the brilliant team at BAPN and The Children's Society will be extremely grateful.
Thank you, Lizzie xx
'The Childrens Societys team will be running to raise awareness and vital funds to help us continue to run our local services for children in this country who feel scared, unloved and unable to cope. The Childrens Society is a national charity that helps thousands of children and young people who desperately need our support, who often have nowhere left to turn.We support vulnerable young people across a range of issues, including those experiencing or at risk of child sexual exploitation, domestic violence, substance misuse, mental and emotional health problems, or children who go missing or run away from home or care. Our supporters around the country fund our services, volunteer with us, and join our campaigns to show children and young people they are on their side. In doing so, they help us make a real and positive difference to thousands of children's lives.'
