Story
Since Olly had successful surgery to remove a brain tumour last year, he has worked tirelessly to raise money for the children’s cancer ward in Newcastle hospital. At a time when Olly could have been head down, focusing on his own recovery, he decided to make sure kids in the future who are going through the most challenging experience of their lives, have access to the very best care.
Olly said ‘At present there is a massive contrast between my age group and the modern teenage unit’ and when he met with the top people from the Great North Children’s Hospital at the RVI he said ‘They really listened to my ideas and want my input to engage the opinions of my fellow patient’.
So Team Olly is here to help him on his mission! I won’t be running the Great North Run due to some recent health issues but I am determined to walk it! The most I’ve walked in a day since my own (minor) surgery is 5 miles. Walking 13 is going to be a huge challenge for me but one that will be so much easier if I know that because I’m doing it, the Team Olly pot is getting bigger and the children’s ward will get even better!
So please please please help me out if you can!
