Story
This year I am running my first ever marathon, which is a slightly terrifying prospect that I'm looking to mark by raising money for a charity I'm passionate about.
Running a marathon hasn't necessarily been on my bucket list, but running is a big part of my life at the moment, so I have decided that there really is no time like the present to (hopefully) join the marathon finishers club. I'll be training for the marathon with a mixture of runs in London, Buckinghamshire and North Wales (I'm very willing to run up a hill for a view). My goal for the marathon is first of all to finish, and ideally to finish in under 4 hours; a goal entirely based on wanting to match or beat Luke's first marathon time.
The Trussell Trust is a charity I've supported for some time, and with the current cost of living crisis in the UK, it's a no brainer to fundraise for charities like these that support the most vulnerable in our society.
I would love it if you could support my fundraising either by donating to my page, or by making a food donation to your local food bank.
Here's a little more information about the Trussell Trust:
Our vision is for a UK without the need for food banks. We say this because it’s not right that anyone cannot afford their own food. That’s why we are working towards a just, compassionate future, where no one should have to use a food bank to get by.Our vision is ambitious, but we know that if we work together it is possible. We can create a future where nobody goes hungry, because nobody will allow it – when we work Together for Change.#TogetherForChange
