Story
Scarlett, my 4 year old little girl, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes two years ago. She manages four insulin injections a day, and at least four finger prick blood tests; and amazes us all with how well she copes both with the invasive treatment and the restrictions to her diet. Diabetes will be a life-long condition for her (unless medical advances find a cure!). Diabetes UK is a great charity, both in terms of the funding it provides for research, its campaigning and also the very helpful information it provides for people living with diabetes and their families. This charity is close to our hearts.
As most of you know, I am not a great runner (not to be confused by Paul, who is much more sporty!!!). However, after Paul's excellent fundraising last year cycling hundreds of miles, this year I am keen to raise money by actively taking part in an event. I started training 3 weeks ago! The event is on May 16th, where I will be running through the centre of Manchester. .......Fingers crossed I will finish the 10K, and hopefully raise some money along the way.
