Story
I'm happy to announce that I am participating in the Washington's National Parks Fund's "Climb For a Cause" program, where companies and individuals alike raise money for the state's National Parks, and at the same time, enable people to summit some of Washington State's highest peaks! I will be climbing Mount Rainier, but the program raises money for all three of Washington's National Parks. The Olympic, North Cascades, and Rainier parks are all vastly diverse areas with different initiatives, including managing wildlife populations, increasing accessibility, expanding volunteer programs, and educating youth. The WNPF funds all of these, among others.
On a personal note, I was born and raised in Washington, and explored all of these parks as a child with such wide-eyed wonder that they were effectively exotic new planets to me, straight out of a science-fiction story. Moreover, ascending Rainier has always been a dream of mine, and I've even attempted it twice in the past two years, only to be foiled by bad weather on both occasions. So, the opportunity for another chance, and where I'll be giving back to the parks that helped inspire my childhood imagination, is more than I could hope for! That's why I'd like to ask you for a donation on their behalf, to continue their projects. Requested amounts are between $10 and $50, but anything higher or lower is still appreciated! Stay healthy, and enjoy the summer!
