Fundraising for Action for A-T
Story
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Sid (the dog) and I will be walking as much of the Lindsey Trail as possible in 3 days.
I am doing this for the amazing charity Action for A-T who are funding research into the currently unpreventable and untreatable disease, Ataxia Telangiectasia.
It occurs in between 1 out of 40,000 - 1 out of 100,00. There are no indicators of this at birth but deterioration of the nervous and immune system confine children to a wheelchair by the age of 10 and very rarely make it through their 20’s. children often loose their ability to write, read and talk due to loss of control of muscles. The most troubling part of this is that their mind is not at all affected which makes a difficult situation all the more frustrating, when they can’t physically do what they’re minds want to do.
As I said there is no cure or treatment to slow or stop progression, making this charity a vital cause.
