24 peaks over 24 hours!

2023 marks my 11th year of fundraising. In 2011/12 I lost both my Mum and Nan within 7 months. I was broken, and my mental health greatly suffered. I received some invaluable counselling and have been giving back to a local cancer counselling charity ever since. We Hear You (WHY) based in Frome provide free and independent counselling sessions to those effected by cancer and other life threatening illnesses. they are a pivotal charity supporting so many people including children who have lost their parents and siblings to cancer. I have been tirelessly fundraising for them for many years now to try and reduce their waiting lists and raise their profile.  

Previous fundraising efforts have involved 2x community world records and thousands of you have not only been involved but many have gone on to further fundraise for WHY. The ripple effect has been phenomenal.   

On September the 8th I head up to the Lake District for yet another challenge. The 24 peaks challenge. I’ll be trekking and climbing for 24 hours summiting 24 of the highest peaks including Scafell Pike. Think of the 3 peaks challenge x8!

Those that know me know I like to challenge myself. I don’t believe fundraising should be easy. I need to earn your donations. I chose the ladder challenge a few years ago due to a fear of heights. I ran a mile a day for an entire year because (contrary to popular belief) I don’t like running! The Row and Skittles world records were huge logistical challenges! 

24 peaks in 24 hours will certainly test my stamina and strength once again. I’ll be training on my days off for the next 6 months clocking up the mileage climbing up and down local hills (several times) for height! 

Your support since 2011 when Mum and Nan died has been immense. You’ve got me through some very dark days. All I ask for now is a small donation so together we can help others who may have their own dark days ahead..
