Story
We wanted to set ourselves a crazy challenge, and decided on this one, which involves running 31 MILES on some of the roughest terrain through the mountains around Keswick, Lake District.
We will take on around 2,500 meters in accents after setting off at 6am, having camped out the night before.
We decided since we were being slightly crazy and taking on such a huge challenge we would raise some money for Yorkhill Childrens Charity, who face even bigger challenges every day. Here is just one example.
When our gorgeous little flame haired girl, Isla, took ill suddenly with an abscess just after her 1st birthday she was taken to Yorkhill. Within an hour she was in surgery and this promptness likely saved her life. Over the following 6 months, Isla visited Yorkhill regularly for treatments and visits and each time was greeted and treated with respect and smiley face by staff who give so much to their work and patents. Luckily Isla make a full recovery and is now a bubbly, beautiful little 8 year old, thanks to the amazing team at Yorkhill.
We are taking on this challenge on May the 22nd and trying to juggle training with everyday life as two very busy working mums... So, if you feel what we are doing is worthy of a wee donation for Yorkhill, an amazing charity, we would really appreciate every penny. Thanks so much in advance.......
