Story
This Fall I am going to be starting as a Jesuit Volunteer (JV) at the Migrant Farmworkers Assistance Fund (MFAF) in Kansas City, MO. For a year I will be living in community while I serve as the Youth Programming Specialist, helping to organize after-school programming for children of migrant farmworkers. I will also be assisting with the various other services MFAF offers to their clients - including healthcare, legal advice, education and advocacy.
JVC keeps four values at the core of their volunteer programs: social justice, simple living, spirituality and community. I look forward to developing these four areas of my life in the coming year while I also gain experience in social work and working with youth.
Thank you so much for taking some time to learn more about JVC, I cannot wait for my journey to begin!
