Story
This year I turned 40 and when James asked me what I would like as a gift I asked for an experience as opposed to something material. I've always wanted to run a 3rd marathon and hence picked Vancouver as the place to do it.
As many people know, we had fertility treatment to get Matilda and I feel extremely blessed that we have been able to have a child. Since having her I have heard of young children with cancer and also teenagers too and just cannot imagine the heartache of having a child with cancer, especially now I am a parent. I have therefore decided to raise money for Kidscan whilst running my 26.2 miles.
Believe me, beginning training for the marathon with a 4 month old (who is now almost 8 months) has been no mean feat as I have often been heading out after a sleepless night, in between breast feeding sessions or coming back to a crying baby! Either way, all of this pales into insignificance when you imagine how it must feel to have a child diagnosed or living with cancer. I hope you can even afford just 5 pounds for this worthy cause and know your donations can truly make a difference to this worthwhile charity who receive no state funding and dont have the fundraising support of many of the big charities. Thanks in advance.
