In April 2023 I will be running the London Marathon with my best friend Rachel. We have both experienced the London Marathon as supporters for our family members, and over a glass or two, we decided to give it a go ourselves. I will be running to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer. I am a paediatric nurse at Medway hospital, and have worked on Dolphin ward for the past three years. I primarily care for oncology children throughout their journey, from diagnosis to treatment, and I have seen first hand the toll a cancer diagnosis can take on children and their families. I see the challenges these children and their families face and know how valuable the work this charity does to support these families through the most difficult times in their lives.

The work which Young Lives vs Cancer does is vital, too often, young cancer patients and their families do not get the support they need from the government. Young Lives vs Cancer bridges the gap through day-to-day support, financial help, nursing support from home, bereavement support and so much more, to keep families together when it matters most.
