Story
Every day, students on our campus wonder where they will find their next meal. In fact, 13 percent of community college students faced food insecurity in 2015. At DCCCD, the numbers are even more bleak - 27 percent reported "very low food security."
Food insecurity is the limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe foods, or the ability to acquire such foods in a socially acceptable manner.
To address this issue, DCCCD recently partnered with the North Texas Food Bank to make food available at all of our colleges.
This fundraising campaign, managed by the DCCCD Foundation, is dedicated to ensuring our pantries have the resources they need to feed our students throughout the year. To keep up with demand and ensure the shelves are never empty, we need your help to stock the pantry!
