Story
Seven years ago I was diagnosed with renal cancer. After having my kidney removed, I slowly recovered. It wasn't necessary for me to have chemotherapy so I considered myself one of the lucky ones. Myself, my three sisters and my brother decided to do a family head shave to raise money for Cancer Research and raised an amazing £5500 from the head shave, along with a raffle and auction with items donated by friends, family and local businesses.
Unfortunately my cancer has returned but this time it is not curable. Myself and my family struggled to come to terms with the diagnosis. But with help and support from The Kirkwood, we are now learning to live with it. As a thank you to them, we have decided to organise the Bobtown Family Get Together and all have our heads shaved again!! I hope to raise £6000 this time so please help as every penny will count.
Thanks,
Elaine
