Story
As many of you already know I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in January of this year I am one of the lucky ones in that it was hopefully caught early enough (stage 1c). I’ve been operated on and now I am receiving double agent chemotherapy in attempt to gain full cure so I can carry on and have a happy life with family and friends. Many woman are not so lucky and are often picked up at a much later stage with little chance of cure. It is known as the silent killer for a reason. More work is needed to support research and more money is needed to support woman in less fortunate circumstances. Myself and my team of merry wo/men are hoping to cycle/run/walk 1000 miles over the course of March to raise money for this worthy cause. I will be receiving chemotherapy at the beginning of March so this is a huge undertaking for me both physically and mentally but I will have support. It may roll in to April but the team and I are hopeful to reach the 1000 mile mark. I will have my husband Kevin, friends Rachael, Fiona, Lisa and not forgetting little Isla all adding to the miles. I will keep you updated via this just giving page and Facebook.
A bit about the charity:
Target Ovarian Cancer is the UK’s leading ovarian cancer charity working to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research and provide much-needed support to women with ovarian cancer. They are the only charity fighting ovarian cancer on all three of these fronts, across all four nations of the UK. They are facing a new kind of challenge with Covid-19 and women with ovarian cancer have never needed them more. Your support means that they can continue to raise awareness and maintain support services for people like me and my family.
