Story
Helllllo lovely people : )
Thanks for popping by my JustGiving Page, means a lot to have the support of my awesome friends, family and colleagues.
So, back in May I thought it would be a good idea to attempt to run the entire coast of Cornwall, Padstow to Lands End - 3 marathons in 3 days! I do love a challenge don't get me wrong, but with a few training hick ups and injuries this year it's certainly going to be a step up on the challenge front! But hey ho, i'm going to give it a good crack for sure!
Skills required to complete the Atlantic Coast Challenge:
- Being able to read a map! Errrm, not my best skill; can I keep the sea on my right, land on my left?
- Run, preferably more than 26 miles (78.6 miles in total!)- Well this is certainly questionable after my last training run, let alone adding the beautiful cornish hills and rugged terrain in the mix; walk/plod/crawl policy has been added to the action plan!
- Enjoy a challenge - Now we're talking!
Noun: A call to someone to participate in a competitive situation or fight to decide who is superior in terms of ability or strength.Well, i'm rolling solo on this challenge, but with all these events and supporters you always meet new friends and have interesting conversations. So although i'm not competitive and won't be 'racing', I will endeavour to use all my ability and strength to complete this challenge!
- GIVING IT BACK: Raise money for a charity close to my heart - TICK! Apparently, 1 person every hour is diagnosed with Parkinson's, a very sad fact indeed. My dad is an awesome dude, he taught me to swim, run around the cricket pitch and took me to ballet every week (albeit embarrassing me at the time by demoing a very dodgy plie at the barre!). He is also a tough cookie, being diagnosed with Ataxia and Parkinson's, but not one to give in, we pick up our dumbbells each week and talk about life over our chair gym sessions! Mr John Macey, along with my super star caring and determined mum, are my inspirations to NEVER GIVE UP.
- Birthday day out - it'll be my birthday, so thought i'd treat myself to a view of the ocean for three days, and combine everything I love in life - the outdoors, camping, being near the ocean, attempting a challenge, raising money for charity and LIVING & LOVING LIFE : )
Ta for reading, and thanks for any donation how ever big or small, means a lot.
Peace out.
