Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This will be my 5th Plymouth Half Marathon, I'm still trying to run it in under 2 hours 30 mins, never seem to quite make it though so this year is a personal challenge to try and do it as well as running as part of Simon Adams fundraising team for Motor Neurone Disease.
You may have read about Simon in the Evening Herald.
On the 30 October 2009, two weeks after his 46th birthday, Simon was informed by a neurosurgeon that he was suffering from Motor Neurone Disesase. The prognosis is quite simple, death. The timescale is anything up to three years from the time the symptoms became apparent. The horror of being diagnosed with a terminal disease for which there is very litle effective medication, and which strikes sufferers down in most undignified way,is hard to put into words. Please visit the association website http://www.mndassociation.org/ for more information.
I first heard about Simon last December and I immediately wanted to help. Simon has inspired me because he hasn't just crumbled and given up! What would I do if that was me!!!
Simon has written a bucket list of wishes for the things he wants to do, I cried when I read this as some of these are very personal to him and include spending precious time with dear friends and loved ones, things we all take for granted.
One of Simon's wishes is to raise £1 million pound for Motor Neurone Disease to help with future research into a cure for this horrific disease.
Please sponsor me to reach the finish line and help Simon reach his fundraising goal.
Thank you
