Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As part of a team called The Rack Pack, I am taking part in the Cancer Research UK Pretty Muddy Race for Life 5km in Winchester on Saturday 7th June 2014 for my dear friend, Jean Wright. I have been friends with Graham and Jean for 22 years, since I worked for them at The Hunters Inn, Romsey. Despite being two of the most caring and thoughtful people I know, their world (and that of many others) was turned upside down on 11th December 2013 when Jean was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiformae (GBM), a highly aggressive brain tumour. Jean has since undergone brain surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy to treat this Cancer and I am running the Pretty Muddy Race for Life for Jean as I have untold admiration and love for her, and this small thing I am doing will hopefully help find a cure that Jean, and many others will be able to benefit from.
I am also racing in the memory of my in-laws, Mary and Peter Gibson, who both succumbed to this horrible disease, but are now together again.
I know in this day and age people are always asking to be sponsored for various activities and worthwhile charities, but for me Cancer Research is such an important charity that touches so many of us. Any amount you can give to help find a cure for Cancer is money well spent.
