We have an incredible group of #WishHeroes who will be taking on the 2022 London Marathon. Together, we have the power to light up the darkness for critically ill children.

Story

Make a wish is a great foundation that gives children and young people a wish of their choice and make it come true.

Leah (Elaine’s daughter) had a brain tumour diagnosis back in 2015. It was a shock for us all and it took a lot for us to see a good in anything for a while. Leah had some of her confidence and childhood taken away and it made life difficult for a while.

Make a wish foundation gave Leah a wish and though her wish was a simple one (being a teacher at her school for a day) it brought a new lease of life and confidence to her. They also made sure Leah’s big sister Kayleigh was involved which was great as they needed some time together to bond again. The whole experience was fabulous and Leah still loves to tell the story of how she was a teacher for a day.

This is why we want to bring the same happiness to another child or young person that Leah had as they have to suffer so much and a wish can give them something to look forward to and get excited about. It also helps the family bond again as so many bonds are broken during the period of time of treatment and illness.

UPDATE

I am now doing the marathon solo due to Stu breaking his foot 😭

I would just like to explain that the charity had to defer my place in 2022 due to my injury. Achilles tendon decided to give up 🤣. So I have kept this page as my 2023 raising efforts.

Our target is a joint one which we hope to raise to be able to run for a well deserved cause. Any donations are welcomed as every penny counts!

Please wish us the best of luck and share far and wide so we can reach our target!

Many thanks for taking the time to read,

Elaine and Stu 😊
