We support young people and families to achieve their full potential

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Five years ago our good friend Nathalie lost her brother John suddenly in a road accident; he was only 36 years old. John was a much loved son, partner, uncle and friend, and his loss will be felt forever.

The Quinn family set up the John Paul Clarke Foundation the year they lost John to honour his memory.

Since then many of us have raised money in his memory. The money raised, nearly £40, 000 to date, has gone towards a number of charities including Hackney Quest. The key focus has been to help young people fulfil their potential, often in the face of challenging or adverse situations.

This year on Saturday 7th September 2019 a team of John’s friends and family are planning to walk the Thames Path Bridge Challenge : 25 km crossing 16 bridges in London.  John grew up, lived in and loved London, so it feels a fitting tribute.

This time we are raising money for Hackney Quest, a charity that works with the local community at a grass roots level. The money we raise will specifically go towards helping support the children and young people in the community.

To date, money raised in John’s name has funded an annual creative residential program for 3 years, providing 'life changing' experiences and skills. Every year the crucial primary to secondary school transition programme has been funded and John Paul Bursaries have been created. These are awarded to children who show talent and passion across a number of diverse areas; be it drama, music, photography, public speaking or business development, but who do not have the support or financial means to develop it.

If we raise enough money this year, we can continue to ensure that all these initiatives, and this much needed support, can continue for years to come. Without it, they simply would not happen.

Thank you for your contribution.

Eithne and Ben.
