Team Barclays are participating in two Everest related events in 2018.

The main event is Everest in the Alps, the ultimate ski touring challenge; ascending 8,848 metres – the vertical height of Mount Everest – on ski’s over four days in the Alps.  It’s an event that involves approximately 32 hours of uphill ski touring over four days at altitudes of up to 3,500m.

Our team members for this event are Alison Dolan, Thomas Flichy, Mark Lewellen and Harry Koppel 

For both events we are raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity, raising awareness  and essential funds for brain tumour research.  All money raised will go to the Brain Tumour Charity, and their investment in The Everest Centre for research into paediatric low grade brain tumours.

We are also honoured to take part in the challenge alongside the wounded veterans of the Adaptive Grand Slam who helping guide the teams on the trip.  Barclays is a huge supporter of the Armed Forces, and helps address the issues faced by Service personnel and veterans as they transition into civilian life through various programmes, including Barclays AFTER (Armed Forces, Transition Employment & Resettlement).  Team Barclays hopes to increase the awareness of these programmes through our participation in EIA.

For the succesful preparation event on the 9th of February a team of 40+ Barclays colleagues climbed Everest in Canary Wharf - TWICE!
